When you first arrive to island, you're usually super excited and very overwhelmed all at the same time. I never considered myself a morning person until I started living on boats....after that, I can say that I haven't missed too many sunrises. If the light from the sky doesn't wake you up, the chickens will...island time starts early but then goes very slowly around here. We often begin our mornings with a light breakfast on the back deck or visiting one of our local breakfast places. The sunrises here are amazing and really do set the tone for a nice, slow start to a romantic day.

Explore the Beautiful Beaches

After breakfast, we dive right into the best part of the day: the beaches. St. Thomas is home to some of the world’s most stunning shoreline, and there's something special about each one. Popular beaches with food and rentals include: Magens Bay, Coki Beach, Sapphire Beach, Secret Harbor, Lindbergh Bay and Honeymoon Beach on Water Island.

Quieter beaches with great snorkeling include Brewer's Bay down by the airport, Lindqvist on the East End and Hull Bay (Northside) which is a great local spot with good surf when the North swell is in.

To really indulge in local flavors, we suggest Coki beach with their local food trucks! The portions are huge and lobster is always a good choice. Whether it's the crispy delight of conch fritters or the happy numbness of a Painkiller, these treats add a local touch to our beach day.

Nothing better than spending a day off island to another island! Lovango Resort & Beach Club is our favorite escape for the day. Starting at $150/pp, you can head over to the private island and spend all day lounging in the shade, playing in the infinity pool and enjoying great views, food and drinks. Each option comes with beachside service so that you don't have to worry about a thing. Cute boutiques on site have unique options for shopping or souvenirs as well as games in the sandpit if you're looking for something a bit livelier. This is such a splurge of a day and one that my partner and I do often. Shuttle service available on both St. Thomas and St. John to get you over for the day.

Rent a Boat to Explore St. John and More

Save a day for adventure at your own pace! Renting a boat for the day is one of our favorite activities, allowing us the freedom to explore the Northside beaches of nearby St. John, Lovango Resort and Pizza Pi. The rental typically costs around $475, but it is worth every penny.

If snorkeling is your thing, let the team show you all the best spots...they're in the water often a have a knack for finding octopuses, turtles and all sorts of cool marine life. Almost every beach available is a white, sand paradise and with dinghy tie ups close to the beach, you will have the best access to all of these favorites.

For couples who enjoy blending adventure with history, a guided Jeep/Island tour is a fantastic option. We often suggest tours that provide insight into St. Thomas' rich past, taking guests to iconic sites like Blackbeard's Castle and Fort Christian. The stories shared by local guides help connect with the island on a deeper level.

Most of these trips mix a little bit of snorkeling with popular destinations so you get a good variety...but of course, you can always let the guide know what your interests are and they will craft the day around you.
